Description

In the town of Twin Peaks, everyone has their secrets—but especially Laura Palmer (Sheryl Lee). In this prequel to his groundbreaking 1990s television series, David Lynch resurrects the teenager found wrapped in plastic at the beginning of the show, following her through the last week of her life and teasing out the enigmas that surround her murder. Homecoming queen by day and drug-addicted thrill seeker by night, Laura leads a double life that pulls her deeper and deeper into horror as she pieces together the identity of the assailant who has been terrorizing her for years. Nightmarish in its vision of an innocent torn apart by unfathomable forces, TWIN PEAKS: FIRE WALK WITH ME is nevertheless one of Lynch’s most humane films, aching with compassion for its tortured heroine—a character as enthralling in life as she was in death.

This movie is incredible. The first time I saw it was on a rented VHS and it still blew me away. I could hardly believe that anyone ever disliked it, except that it is a challenging way to tell a story. I am glad history has finally vindicated this movie.

The final days of Laura Palmer were beautiful and tragic. The events of Twin Peaks: The Return push the mystery even further. This is an all-time classic and mandatory viewing for fans of the surreal and the thoughtful.

Always need to watch many times in order to truly appreciate any of his films but they are well worth the time.

It felt to me like a huge payoff to my willingness to sit through all of season 1 & painfully dull season 2. This was what I was looking for when I started the series. With that said, I don’t foresee anyone liking this movie, or it making any bit of sense if you aren’t a fan of the series or familiar with David Lynch’s style. Wish I could get this on Blu-ray... oh well! Enjoy!

This movie left me confused, upset, and more excited about the new series than I could have imagined. There are a few loose ends and some things aren't perfect, but Lynch was heavily restricted back then. Take it as is. It's a beautiful thing.
