Description

11-year-old orphan, Félicie (Elle Fanning) has one dream – to go to Paris and become a dancer. Her best friend Victor (Nat Wolff) an imaginative, but exhausting boy with a passion for creating has a dream of his own, to become a famous inventor. In a leap of faith, Victor and Félicie leave their orphanage in pursuit of their passions. But – there’s a catch, Félicie must pretend to be the child of a wealthy family in order to gain admittance to the prestigious and competitive Opera Ballet School in Paris. And with no professional dance training, she quickly learns that talent alone is not enough to overcome the ruthless, conniving attitudes of her fellow classmates, led by the devious Camille Le Haut (Maddie Ziegler). Determined to succeed, Félicie finds her mentor in the tough and mysterious school custodian, Odette (Carly Rae Jepsen) who, along with Victor’s encouraging friendship, help her reach for the stars.

I love this movie! But it's not an Action film; it's an animated family-friendly kid's movie. The genre should be listed as Kids and Family.

I do not know if this is good or bad. Humph. I do love this but...why make the bad mom so BAD?! With all I said is becouse of that. So love this movie. but a mom trying to kill a kid a 11 year old. Okay, it was a nice movie. Good for little girls, especially because of the whole Follow Your Dreams things. I do get what people mean when they say this movie's main themes are not original or fresh, because the whole rich girl=mean poor girl=made fun of by rich mean girl is old. But I think overall, it was a well done movie. I found pretty believable (with a few exceptions) but the end scene, with the evil mother chasing Felicie up the Statue of Liberty with a sledge hammer was very exaggerated and a bit ridiculous. I mean, I could've believed the evil mother being a little nutty, but chasing an 11 year old girl up the Statue of Liberty with a giant hammer, just so you can pound her head in as revenge for her stealing your daughters identity, seemed completely crazy. Other than that, pretty good movie.
