An excellent, intense film that builds slowly. Though the film is slow and perhaps tedious to many, it presents a wonderful story and snapshot of a critical piece of WWII history. Detail oriented as only Nolan can provide.

Loved this movie. The ticking clock on the background added to intensity. Visuals and sound were superb. Harry Styles was unexpectedly good in his first role.
One of the worst directed and written films movies

Filled with intensity, practical effects and amazing visuals, Dunkirk is purely a majestic cinematic experience, although its character development and lasting impact is lacking.

Those that don’t like this movie don’t appreciate history and authenticity. Great flick. Absolutely beautifully made. History isn’t always explosions and superheroes. If that’s what you want, stick to Marvel and Ironman. Great movie.
Nothing but spectacle!

This film couldn’t hold my attention despite being made by Christopher Nolan, who has a talent for making big, elaborate films, often structured in such creative ways, that after you leave the film, you realize you’ve been seduced into thinking you’ve seen something special. That’s his gift, and it takes effort and great craftsmanship. However, if you brake them down to its basic elements and put them in chronological order, they’re rather simplistic. But enough criticism, if a film holds you emotionally, it doesn’t matter how others feel about it. In terms of drama, character, emotion or suspense for that matter, Dunkirk falls flat. Michael Bay could’ve done this film with digital effects, with the same level of minimalism, and critics would’ve called it an atrocity.
