Description

After a two-year period during which numerous women were reported missing in Cleveland’s Mount Pleasant neighborhood, a reported rape leads police to a grisly discovery: a serial killer operating virtually in plain sight. Why had police failed to investigate the missing persons cases? Why did neighbors turn a blind eye to the killer’s activities? Told through the wrenching testimonies of survivors, “Unseen” is a riveting true crime thriller that poses disturbing questions about marginalized lives and criminal justice.

This film reveals how flawed our 'so-called justice' system is and some of the burden(s) that women (especially women of color) deal with daily. Excellent work.

Life gets better when truth is revealed. This documentary powerfully revealed how a bad situation can still bring forth good when the truth is reported and that nobody should be neglected regardless what they look like because they could be truthful. Thanks for making this film.

The lost people: the men get violent, the women get passive. We have to keep an eye out for each other. "You never know that this conversation you are having with a loved one might be the last."

A very well done film about the prolific serial killer Anthony Sowell (Cleveland Strangler) - told through the eyes of his few survivors who managed to escape. A moving and insightful look into the life of the "unseen" - those people that many in society and law enforcement don't even notice they've gone missing. The film goes beyond the usual things covered in a documentary about a serial killer by introducing us to the community residents and family members.

A real-life horror story that also humanizes people who've been kicked to the curb.
  • Tasteful look at a tough subject

A fantastic documentary that takes the road less traveled. A look at Cleveland's "Strangler" case from the perspective of the surviving victims and the deceased victims' families. These women may not have been important to mainstream society, but they were very special to those who loved them. Tasteful and well done.
