Description

What happens when the undead return to life? In a world ravaged for years by a virus that turns the infected into zombie-like cannibals, a cure is at last found and the wrenching process of reintegrating the survivors back into society begins. Among the formerly afflicted is Senan (Sam Keeley), a young man haunted by the horrific acts he committed while infected. Welcomed back into the family of his widowed sister-in-law (Elliot Page), Senan attempts to restart his lifeā€”but is society ready to forgive him and those like him? Or will fear and prejudice once again tear the world apart? Pulsing with provocative parallels to our troubled times, The Cured is a smart, scary, and hauntingly human tale of guilt and redemption.

  • Solid movie, but again weak 3rd act

I really enjoyed this flick for the fact that the acting was good and the make-up wasn't over the top and unrealistic. As with many movies nowadays, I find the final act a bit sloppy. Most modern horror movies think an open ending is creative and artistic, but I begin to think its more evidence of the author being unable to come full circle. I do recommend this movie, tho.

Pretty much your standard British zombie(infected) movie. Reminded me of a cross between 28 days later& In The Flesh. I did enjoy it. Probably not worth the 3.99 to rent, wait till it comes to Netflix. The movie had a good concept, just failed to completely pull the trigger.
  • Great concept- trailer revealed too much

If you watch the trailer, you pretty much have the whole film. The plot is not complicated or that difficult for anyone to put together once you see the trailer. There were no new surpises once I viewed the film. With that said, the premis is really interesting. There are a few dumb moments, and the ending is not very satisfying. This movie gets 4/5 stars for originality (a slightly different spin on a zombie-like apocalypse ) but 2/5 stars for entertainment quality and execution.
