Description

Soldiers returning home often end up fighting a bigger battle than they could have ever imagined. This gripping drama tells the story of Iraq War veteran Will Gardner (Max Martini), who is struggling with the lingering effects of a traumatic brain injury (TBI) from his combat time with his platoon. As part of his struggles with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), haunting memories make his attempt to start his post-war civilian life a challenge. After a series of setbacks, Will decides to set out on a cross-country motorcycle trip with the hope of reuniting with his young son. Along his journey, he reflects on his life with his war buddy, Sam (Omari Hardwick). As the miles pass, Will finds himself making new friends who not only encourage him to confront his past, but also help him focus on a goal of achieving peace and redemption.

Brilliant work. Kudos to Max Martini and his entire cast and crew. Great job of shining a light on what many of our returning veterans face, between TBIs and PTSD, as well as homelessness and just trying to reintegrate into society. Also nice to see a portion of the proceeds going to the charities Higher Ground USA, Warrior’s Heart and the Sinise Foundation.

I don't think you can find a better movie that gets you inside the life of a brave soldier, left to deal with the ongoing trauma of past combat in peacetime; forgotten (never thought of) by those at home. The critics might pick apart the technique and the blah, blah, blah. I didn't read their critiques. They don't get it. This is a great human drama. It's real. It's all around us. These men and women gave (give) us everything, and get so little back. Huge recommend. Highly engrossing story.

More movies like this need to be made. The cast and story was awesome even though at times the subject matter was very hard to watch. I loved when Sgt Gardner squared away the homeless vet. Very touching. Congrats to Max Martini for taking on this mission. Well done sir!

I love this actor so much and admire his work immensely! And having had many, many family members serve in different branches of the military, I absolutely love his advocacy and support for those who serve/have served! I can’t wait to see this film, and I love you, Max Martini! Best of luck, sir! ❤️🇺🇸💪🏻

I’d already knew before watching Sgt Will Gardner that Max Martini would do awesome acting work representing a US Army Soldier. What I didn’t expect is how captivated I would be with Max’s quiet whirlwind storytelling. Max Martini is already an awesome actor! What I loved (hopefully not giving spoilers) was the inserts of poetry, charming humor (especially with the Bryan Cranston situation with feisty Mary Anne... lol), the acute flashbacks, the short bursts of heartfelt interactions Sgt Gardner had with other homeless vets, and the “unbreakable” bond Will has with his bestfriend Omari. What also stood out for me was Sgt Gardner’s sincere connection at the bar with the nobly patriotic Larry (I LOVE Gary Sinise) & the runned-down lonesome Sherry!!! This story is a must see, especially to get the message out about our mentally & physically struggling homeless vets! There are so many out there & purchasing this movie is a great means to start helping & caring more for our well-deserved HEROES!!!!

I’ve been a fan of Max Martini since The Unit, and I was excited to hear he was coming out with a film representing veterans and their struggles. The movie has humor, drama, and at times can be an emotional roller coaster. Watch this film if you are a fan of Max, watch if you are a veteran, and watch to support our veterans.
  • Awesome movie!

This movie was amazing. It was heartfelt and very powerful! It shows the struggles that veterans have to deal with from losing friends at war and family back home to dealing with the VA and the aftermath of injuries. Max Martini always does an awesome job in every role he plays. He nailed this one spot on!
