Description

Unfolding in real time, THE DESPERATE HOUR is a “riveting and pulse pounding” thriller from award-winning director Phillip Noyce. Recently widowed mother Amy Carr (Academy Award®-nominee Naomi Watts) is doing her best to restore normalcy to the lives of her young daughter and teenage son in their small town. As she's on a jog in the woods, she finds her town thrown into chaos as a shooting takes place at her son's school. Miles away, on foot in the dense forest, Amy desperately races against time to save her son.

Three quarter of the movie is only the main character jogging and using her iPhone erratically, just so very annoying! The previews are done nicely to attract us to rent the movie but then it's a all different story! This should have been a documentary not a movie! Just terrible use of time and money just wasted!

Trailer was a very misleading representation of a “Thriller”. I watched a woman run through a forest making calls on her phone for more than half the movie. Besides wasting $7 and 2hrs, the worst part is it doesn’t really do justice to the true tragedy of an active school shooting.
  • Not worth Naomi artistic talent

I typically love films Naomi plays in — until now. Nothing wrong Naomi’s acting in this film it simply lacks substance. It shows her taking a light run away from her home then she gets the emergency alert on her cell phone that something terrible is happening at her child’s school. She is panicked to get to the school. The entire film is just that - her getting to the school. Why didn’t she simply run back home and drive her car there? Absolutely stupid basis for a film. She also spent considerable time wasting the time of emergency workers.. stupid! DO NOT RENT OR BUY THIS MOVIE.

LETS RUN TALK GET SHOT AND GET COVID ALL FOR THE PRICE OF 6:99 NAOMI IS GETTING A LITTLE OLD TO STILL BE MOTHER GOOSE. I MEAN SHE IS A GREAT ACTRESS AND WILL ALWAYS BE REMEMBERED FOR THE RING BACK WHEN MOVIES WERE WATCHABLE.ALSO IT SEEMS AS IF FOR THE LAST 3 YEARS THERE HAVE BEEN 0 MOVIES WORTH RENTING. SO COVID IS REALLY PUTTING A STOP TO ANYMORE RENTING. WELL I GUESS IT COULD BE THE FACT OF THE MAN BEHIND ALL THIS B.S. ENDS IN BURG FIRST W. EVERY MOVIE IS JUST BAD.

Yes it is about a woman running in the woods, all the tension is built around the stress of a mother finding what has happen to her son, and you do not find out until the end. No superheroes, or special effects, just great writing and storytelling.
