Description

From Searchlight Pictures and writer-director Martin McDonagh (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri) comes a unique feature film starring Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson. Although small-town neighbors Pádraic (Farrell) and Colm (Gleeson) have a lifelong friendship, they find themselves at a sudden impasse that brings alarming consequences for both of them. Colm has announced that he no longer wishes Pádraic to speak to him, insisting he will cut off one of his own fingers every time this request is breached. Despite Colm’s outrageous, unilateral proclamation, however, Pádraic is determined to salvage their relationship. Set against the backdrop of the 1920s Irish Civil War, The Banshees of Inisherin features a gifted cast, unique storyline and beautiful cinematography.

  • Very Sad with a very bland ending.

I was disappointed by this film. It had, in my opinion, a very silly and unrealistic story line. I kept waiting for something that never came. Colin Farrell was fantastic and he carried the movie. But the other characters brought little to the story. And mostly, I hate seeing animals harmed or die in movies. If you want to feel depressed or intensify your depression, then this is the movie for you.

The darkness these people are complaining about, actually made it funnier!

So many spectacular performances. Colin Farrell has put forth the best performance of his career. So much depth to this film. The story has so many layers. It made me laugh, it made me cry. I left feeling like I witnessed something beautiful that I can wait to watch again.

I bought this before I watched it based on the great reviews, topnotch cast, and the amazing cinematography. Now that I've seen it, all that is true, but the boring and repetitive storyline goes on and on. Seriously I'll never watch this again unless SNL or someone does a good spoof of it.

This film is full of depressing characters slogging away. The story telling is hopelessly slow and lack luster. How this won awards is beyond me especially beating out some great films. Steer clear this film isn’t worth the time to watch it.

Very little humor, endless “where is this goin?” To end with “WTH” just terrible waste of my time. Husband left the room to watch YouTube.
  • I don’t see the point!

I will not reveal the storyline but…… Nope, a waste of my money and my time. Never really had a meaning other than cranky people getting on each other’s nerves! There is enough of this frustration in our Real Lives. I wish I could get my rental money back. Ps. My wife didn’t much care for it either!

This movie is brilliant ! The scenery and performances are incredible. Colin deserves the Oscar for this film.
  • Awful, dark, disturbing, pointless

A bleak and dark movie that is disturbing. Where is the joy in watching a movie like this? With the current world in shambles this is the last thing you want to spend your time and money watching. No joy, sad and disturbing. Don’t watch it unless you want to feel miserable and sick for the rest of the day.
  • Wrong marketing

It’s not a comedy .. it’s about male depression. Or even about an island of depressed people, but hardly a comedy.
