Description

    This movie was wonderful. It really played to many of the strengths of Akira Kurosawa’s Ikiru. Bill Nighy does a wonderful job bringing the character to life.

    The previews looked like this was going to be a good movie to watch on a Saturday evening. It was a lethargic somber movie which had a rather slow and somber mood to it. It was also hard to understand the actors due to the recorded volume was too low. I could have gotten more enjoyment from a bag of chips.

    This film is so understated and beautiful. Bill Nighy has always been such an underrated actor, glad this film got to be showcase for him to give what could be his finest performance. I only wish it were possible for Nighy to win the Oscar for this wonderful performance.

    Bill Nighy is excellent in every role he plays, and Living is no exception. I thought it’d be a lighthearted, playful, and feel-good movie. While this movie is emotionally moving, it’s ultimately a sad affair. The story feels like a long eulogy to a man who wanted to do one meaningful thing in his career. Overall, it’s a good story, but not something I’d like to watch again.
