this is one of the best movies i have ever seen. it has a very interesting plot line, very good charector conflicts, and a great ending that wasnt in the least bit predictible. Great acting and screen play as well. just an over all amazing film that i would defanatly watch more than once.

Alright this is the first movie I actually felt the need to write a review about.... This movie is simply put for lack of better words AWESOME!! Great Storyline, Great Acting, Great Romance (for those interested), and Great Action, it honestly just has it all. I asked a few of my buddies about it, and they had never even heard about this movie, so its shocking to me to see such a sick (in a good way) movie that went under the radar so much!! Definently buy it b/c you would pay just as much to take a date to this movie in theaters, and trust me after you watch it you'll want to have it!!!

Just from the number of reviews of this movie should be enough to show you how bad this movie is, (18 including mine). While I do admit that the acting in this movie is beyond spectacular, the plot, direction, and script are thoroughly awful. In addition the film is a bit one-sided and prejudice. If you are looking for a good movie on Africa or England, this is not it. Terrible historical accuracy and otherwise unrealistic. Sorry. It earns three stars on acting purely.

I'm giving it a 5-star since it deserves that in its own genre -- that of period, historic film with more of a "based on a true story" type of feel. The uncertain romantic aspect kept me in suspense until the last 2 minutes.

This was such a beautifully woven tale. My goodness! You wanna talk about superb acting! This is why I love Heath Ledger. I will so sorely miss his talents. Outstanding performances! Outstanding! And what a great story! Nothing I would ever have expected. It was so moving. A triumphant tale of strength and courage sprung from the soul of a man that was at its absolute lowest. The battle fought most strenuously is the one fought within ourselves. War, love, loyalty, redemption...Geez, there's so much great about this film, I don't know where to begin. I have a hard time digesting war films-from any period. They're mostly too painful for me to watch. But, this film kept it simple. They didn't sugar coat the scenes or hollywood it up, but they didn't throw blood and gore in your face everytime there was a battle either. This film was true to its story. I'll just say it's a winner and you should watch. My gosh! What a journey. Well done! Well...well done!

I saw this in the theatre and I was blown away! There's so much emotion throughout the entire movie, and it's genuinely moving. Heath Ledger's performance is phenominal. It felt like I was seeing his very soul. Amazing.

Story with depth, great acting, scenery, action, drama/dilema and a few good lessons too. Great to see more quality movies like this come on to iTunes store as may be the case with all the big names now on board.
