Description

The critics and public agree. Brian De Palma's The Untouchables is a must-see masterpiece - glorious, fierce, larger-than-life depiction of the mob warlord who ruled Prohibition-era Chicago... and the law enforcer who vowed to bring him down. This classic confrontation between good and evil and stars Kevin Costner as federal agent Eliot Ness, Robert De Niro as gangland kingpin Al Capone and Sean Connery as Malone, the cop who teaches Ness how to beat the mob: shoot fast and shoot first.

They just don’t make movies like they used to. Classic!

The movie has several phenomenal scenes: the church scene with Connery, the recruitment of George Stone (Andy Garcia’s character), the “baseball” scene, the assassination in Racine St. and Nitti’s final moments all are well done. The soundtrack is by Morricone and the wardrobe is by Armani — DePalma’s direction gives it a gritty graphic novelesque feel.

Don't let the subject matter/ cast fool you here. A way overdue oscar was awarded on this film, but the performances are bad. I really wanted to like this and have watched it many times trying to grasp at anything. It is a very very over rated film.

When I say The Untouchables is a touchable film, I most certainly do not mean that it's weak. I'm saying that there are touching scenes in this film. Now that that's out of the way, I adore The Untouchables. I adore it for it's action scenes, heart breakers, good characters, awesome music, and of course, good villains. Robert De Niro as Al Capone was a great choice. He does a great job of showing the audience the monster Capone really was. Sean Connery also does a good job as Malone, but I remember De Niro the most. The dramatic moments in this movie are some of the most violent yet emotional you will ever see. The Untouchables is one of my favorite movies of all time. That deserves an untouchable 10/10.

Thank you, "iTunes" for the refund. Hope"Paramount Pictures" corrects the quality of the download, and truly make available 1080p(HD) for$17.99 Do something Paramount, please be honest to your fellow americans. Since you made a boo boo, like sell for $9.99 in 1080p(HD) to americans and countries like Japan, Jack up the price.
  • GARBAGE

This is perhaps the most overdone movie I've ever had the displeasure of watching. I haven't felt myself cringing in more consecutive scenes than in my movie-watching experience. I'd feel more comfortable watching educational sex videos with my parents. This is trash. Nothing develops properly, the acting is incredibly forced, the storyline is jagged, and the film is entirely unrepresentative of the epic classic that was Al Capone's life. Not to mention, the scene where the monopoly-guy attempts to bribe Costner might be the most pathetic attempt at acting cinematography has ever encountered. Unfortunately, zero starts is not an option. In fact, now that I've reached the end of this review I realize just how incredibly bored I must be to take the time to write it. Simply sad. Now, I must pay my eye-doctor a visit to stop this persistent bleeding.

With an all-star cast I had high hopes for this film, but they fell short.

THIS IS MY ALL TIME FAVORITE MOVIE. Great actors who were realativley unknown put together a fantastic performance with Brian de Plama. Al Capone was a real guy. Elliot Ness was a real guy. Elliot Ness put Capone away. And they made a movie out of it. Bob de Niro put out the violent, evil man that Capone was and Kevin Costner was incredibly likeable and effective at delivering his role. He shows how stressful the real Ness's job was, and that to stop a monster, you must be ready to become one yourself. The difference is Ness does it for a good reason. Charles Martin Smith provides some comedy relief in the role of Oscar Wallace. Andy Garcia as George Stone plays the silent but deadly tough guy of the group and (last but not least) Sean Connery holds the group together. Grab the popcorn and buckle up. This thriller-drama never slows down.
