Description

Gregory Peck won an Oscar® for his brilliant performance as the Southern lawyer who defends a black man accused of rape in this film version of the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel. The way in which it captures a time, a place, and above all, a mood, makes this film a masterpiece. The setting is a dusty Southern town during the Depression. A white woman accuses a black man of rape. Though he is obviously innocent, the outcome of his trial is such a foregone conclusion that no lawyer will step forward to defend him – except Peck, the town's most distinguished citizen. His compassionate defense costs him many friendships but earns him the respect and admiration of his two motherless children.

  • iTunes & Apple TV Extras needed

Amazing classic, but can you add the Special Features and iTunes Extras? I don’t understand that. I have discovered that the Special Features for this film is on the DVD/Blu-Ray release, but not included on iTunes. This is really annoying to me when the Special Features appear on the Home Video releases of movies, but not on iTunes because technology is advancing everyday. Apple and iTunes should make it mandatory for all movies that came with Special Features on home video be released on iTunes as well. Also, can you add a background picture as well?
  • Not the original movie! Over edited!

So disappointed! Missing many scenes! Don’t buy the digital version. I rarely write a review but beware of this version.

Harper Lee’s 1960 novel of the same name gets one of the best film adaptions of our time! This story will stay with you after watching! It’s that good!

This movie is so close to my heart, that it's hard to put into words. It is worthy of all the praise it has received and so much more. This movie is extremely close to the novel that inspired it. Although it doesn't include every detail from Harper Lee's incredible story, the emotions and feelings are identical. This movie can touch anybody with its heartwarming story and lovable characters. Mary Badham gave an outstanding performance at such a young age, and her character Scout remains one of my favorites ever. Gregory Peck plays Atticus to complete perfection. I don't know why, but every time I watch this I am amazed. It's really a simple story, but so many themes and ideas lie beneath it. Harper Lee's novel does the same. This is a magnificent film, and a must see for all.
  • Everyone should see this movie

The message is timeless, and the performances in the film are so strong - especially from the outstanding and heart-stoppingly handsome Gregory Peck. No-one should go through their life without seeing this - it makes you reflect on the nature of people and how we perceive each other, and the world would be a better place if we all took note.

This movie really goives off a perfect message of "Never judge a book by its cover" type of message. I enjoyed watching it and would reccomend it for anyone. Im 17 and honestly classic movies like these are the best to watch.
