Description

Milla Jovovich (Resident Evil, The Fifth Element), Cameron Bright (X-Men 3), Nick Chinlund (The Legend of Zorro) and William Fichtner (The Longest Yard) star in this theatrical set in the late 21st century, a subculture of humans have emerged who have been modified genetically by a vampire-like disease (Hemophagia), giving them enhanced speed, incredible stamina and acute intelligence, and as they are set apart from "normal" and "healthy" humans, the world is pushed to the brink of worldwide civil war (a war between humans and hemophages) aimed at the destruction of the "diseased" population. In the middle of this crossed-fire is - an infected woman - Ultraviolet, who finds herself protecting a nine-year-old boy who has been marked for death by the human government as he is believed to be a threat to humans.

    This is a great weekend or rainy day watch. Seems some folks want to nit pick over the story or the special effects like they are considering it for an Academy Award or something. It was a great movie for its time and budget. Thoroughly entertaining IMO.

    It’s bad but it’s good. It tries to reach for greatness and every now and then touches it despite its myriad flaws. What a lovely cheesy fun cyberpunk action flick. Also Milla Jovovich is nude in this.

    I know this isn't the best movie ever made but if you like unique action then this movie is for you. But if you really want to see the full movie see the unrated version, it has a lot more plot & explanation that the stupid studio cut out against the directors wish, so if you hated the movie don't blame the director. But for those who like lots of cool action I recommend this movie.

    Even with Milla's ultrahotness, this is one ultrabad, ultrabraindead, and ultraboring game of a movie. Even though it's entirely made up of strung-together action scenes, it's boring because it's all ultrafake -- and not good fake like, say, Sin City or the Matrix movies or your average game, but really badly done, cheaply done, insultingly stupid fake. An ultrawaste of time and money and Milla J's hotness.

    If you are a fan of good, creative film making, then this is not for you. If you like completely mindless entertainment, you still may not like it, but go ahead an try to sit through it without laughing at it's absurdity. I am a fan of Milla, but i wonder what she was thinking with this role. If you had seen original action movies before it, like Equilibrium, which is incredible, then you will see how this film rips off those other films. If you liked movies like Elektra or the awful Van Helsing, you may be able to tolerate it, but try not to waste your time on this one.
