Description

Inspired by Victor Hugo's classic novel, Disney brings the heroic adventures of Quasimodo, the gentle and lonely bell ringer of Notre Dame, to spectacular life. This critically acclaimed Disney masterpiece is an "uplifting, thrilling story with a heart-touching message that emerges from the comedy and song" (Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times). At the urging of his hilarious gargoyle pals Victor, Hugo, and Laverne, Quaismodo leaves the solitary safety of his tower, venturing out to find his first true friend, the gypsy beauty Esmerelda. The most unlikely of heroes, Quasi fights to save the people and the city he loves and, in turn, helps us to see people for who they are, rather than how they appear. The star-studded voice cast includes Jason Alexander, Tom Hulce, Kevin Kline, and Demi Moore in a magnificent Disney musical from renowned composer Alan Menken.

I really really love the part when judge Claude frollo chases the lady and takes the baby and raised it himself

Lesson learned. So because the hunchback is an ugly deformed freak he doesn’t deserve love and is forced to watch as the beautiful people have intimate relations and it’s ok because at least theyre sympathetic about it. There ya have it kids DONT BE UGLY!

When "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" came out in 1996, when I was 18, they could not have realized the impact it would make in my life years down the road. One of the more mature Disney animated feature movies at the time, it dealt with themes of faith, morality, strength in the face of corruption, and the backwardness of societal norms (physical appearance > compassion for each other). It's a story that transcends time and even now, in 2019, is relevant with its powerful, often truthful, message that in a world, that we're often taught is black and white, there's a whole lot of gray.

I love this movie so much! This needs to be more appreciated. It’s dark and like wow I can’t believe this is Disney? I love this movie so so soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much! Who is the monster and who is the man? Awesome. So.GOOD! Every time I watch it I notice something new. There is nothing about this movie that I hate. Esmeralda is just AWESOME! She’s so pretty and kind and look at her kicking that guard. And her dance is awesome. And there’s a huge love triangle with quasi and Phoebus and frollo. It’s different then the book but I might like it better that way. Esmeralda seems like a role model to me. Great movie!

This should've been nominated for or won best picture. It has some of the best animation, the deepest story telling, the greatest themes, and is 100% the most dramatic Disney film to date. Never seen any other like it

My favorite movie of all time. It incorporates the impossible, the probable, religion, and strength. This show has me singing the songs well into the night.
