Description

When their plane crashes, 25 schoolboys find themselves trapped on a tropical island, miles from civilization. At first, they welcome their new freedom. But soon they discover that trying to survive is anything but fun and games. Ralph and his friend, Piggy, organize the boys according to the values of the civilization they left behind. Working together, they have a better chance of getting food, getting water and getting rescued. But another boy, Jack, embraces the savagery of his new surroundings. One by one, he lures the other boys into his camp. Donning war paint and spears, everyday life becomes a spectacle of sadistic games, rituals and punishments.

    After reading the book I chose to watch the movie and after I realized that Ralph is the failing law of the civilizations and jack was just civilization crumbling into beasts.

    This movie was actually quite enjoyable, although it skipped around a lot and its hard to get because of it. I would advise you to read the book first, it will help you understand it much better. If there is one thing that tops all else in this movie, it's the acting. These boys were great actors! So I'll leave with this, read the book and enjoy.

    Yes, I read the book but I think this movie is waaaaay better. The actors were all how I imagined the characters (maybe better-- ahem ahem simon) the main reason people don't like this is that it was not exactly the book in visual form. But I like it when things aren't exactly like the book because them it would be kind of boring. I like the changes they made and this is honestly so much better then the 1963 version. My only complaint is that they should have put in the scene where Simon talks to the pigs head on a stick because the anyone who hasn't read the book would have never ever gotten the title.
