    If theater is what you want, I suppose this is watchable. Turn on closed caption for the words. If you’re not into Shakespeare-speak, you won’t understand anything said or the action sequence too well. So rent the movie and watch it for the experience of a theater-to-cinema rendition. I should have rented, not purchased the movie.

    A very good, compact adaptation of the play. This is your only opportunity to see Marlon Brando tackle Shakespeare and he's magnificent as Mark Antony. Otherwise, John Gielgud is a solid, complex Cassius, and James Mason is an adequate (though not exceptional) Brutus. The play itself is sometimes considered difficult to stage, as it tends to drag in Act IV (after the funeral orations). In this adaptation, however, the shortened script manages to keep things moving at a decent pace to the end.

    A perfect example of the potential in all of Shakespeare's plays with an amazing cast that performs this sensationally. Its a must see and one for the ages.
