  • One of the funniest movies I’ve seen

I rented this movie on Amazon Prime last night and started watching it. It’s one of the funniest movies I have ever seen and a comedic portrayal of the greatest and most powerful protection force in the world. Most of the things that happen are not real (a Secret Service agent acting as a servant and bringing a protectee meals, letting the motorcade driver suddenly drive away without consent from the detail, Tess being kidnapped etc) and would never occur under the watch of the agents. This is similar to the movie First Kid with Sinbad but Guarding Tess is way funnier! I’ve been infatuated by the Secret Service since I was young and have watched the numerous action movies (In The Line of Fire, The Sentinel, Olympus, London and Angel Has Fallen, and The Interpreter) and multiple documentaries about the agency, which were all fantastic despite some not portraying what these brave gentlemen and women do every single day factually. Other than that, I cannot get enough of this movie and hope to get it on dvd soon.

A love/hate business relationship turns personal (nonsexually) as an agent who has been ordered to care for the widowed ex predident's wife, battles all of her idiocycrencies while she insists she does NOT want nor need tending to...or...DOES she?

Overall this is a good movie. There are some parts of it and you're like wait...what? But it's a cute random movie that will kill an hour and thirty minutes of boredm. I doubt I'd watch it ever again but was cool to see once. Beware though...there is some bad actiong from supporting cast members in this movie that will make you shake your head.

Liked it better than I thought I would. Nicholas Cage has got himself into some real turkeys lately, but he was really good in this one, and Shirley MacLaine is always superb.

I hadn't seen this in years, and it was a pleasure watching it again. It features great performances from all and an engaging story line that is both poignant and funny. I hope iTunes offers it for sale soon.
  • Great acting performances by Shirley MacLaine and Nicholas Cage

This is probably one of Nicholas Cage's best acting performances as the uptight secret service agent guarding a "pain-in-the-a**" former First Lady (played by Shirley MacLaine). MacLaine's performance in the film is iconic and she adds excellent humor to the film. The plot will be a surprise for anyone who hasn't seen this film.
