My school did this as a Play and I watched the movie and I was stunned, such emotion yet it was serious as steel. The people in this film were perfect at their roles, I have never seen a better musical turned movie!

Robert Preston and Shirley Jones do a delightful shift from great acting, to melodrama, and back again in this movie. For me the real genius of this musical is pairing in counterpoint two completely different songs at the same time throughout the movie, ending with a blend of THREE songs. The song, Trouble, is part of American culture now. And the Buffalo Bills set the gold standard for barbershop quartet excellence. Don't miss this classic.
