  • OK but overrated

It's ok. Mildly entertaining. Sorry to disagree with almost everyone, but I find it impossible to see how people think this is one of the best movies of all time? Why???? I don't think there was one moment where I laughed hard, and most of the humor was about the amount of alcohol they were drinking. I have nothing against alcohol, and maybe this was extremely funny and relevant in the post-Prohibition era when it was made, but it doesn't hold up now. The plot of the film was scattershot at best, and none of the characters were well developed. The two lead actors had no chemistry, they seemed almost repulsed to kiss each other.
  • Great movie start of a great series, but...

Print is of fair to poor quality. Numerous scratches, bad splices and visible reel change cue punches seen. Looks like a very used tv station package print. For what I paid for it - as one of Nick Charles' criminal friends might have said, "You was gypped buddy!". Where is the quality control, ITunes?

Please add a series package for all of the Thin Man movies! There would be a lot of people who would buy this package of six movies. They're classic movies! And offering them as a package would be worthwhile to all the fans of classic movies. Also, please add the classic movie Bell, Book & Candle with James Stewart and Kim Novak. You cannot leave this movie out of your classic genre!

There's not much I can say to add to the rave reviews for this film that have already been posted, but this is a movie I never tire of watching. I have seen all of the Thin Man movies in the series many, many times and I love them all (probably the best film series I have ever seen) but the first two (The Thin Man, After the Thin Man) are my favorites. The witty banter and the playful chemistry between William Powell and Myrna Loy is unmatched (IMHO).

The movie would have been great, if I could have viewed it. Most of the movie skip and word did not coincide with the actors. Movie quality was extremely poor. I wish to have a refund or a better movie to watch of "the thin man" series. Thank you for allowing me to express my concerns. MJ1952

Why isn't the HD version of this movie available for purchase? I want to buy it, not rent it.

Classic film starring two of the best actors of all time William Powell and Myrna Loy. You will want to watch this again and again. Fantastically entertaining, with twists and turns around every corner. Even Asta gets into the action. Don't forget your drinks or to serve the nuts while watching one of the most exciting films of this era.

The Thin Man movies are filled with quick wit and classic comedy. These are a "must have" for any movie buff. You will not be disappointed.

I love all 6 "Thin Man" movies but I don't like the fact that Nick is always drinking. Bad alcohol message. Chances are people thought you can drink and stay (mentally speaking) sharp and focus which we all know is not the case at all.

I love this movie. It's charm and wit will never grow old fashioned. Myrna Loy and William Powell are one of the all-time great teams. The only complaint I have is that iTunes only rents it, while it sells the sequels. I want to own the first Thin Man! What gives, iTunes?
