Description

From the mind of George Lucas, Radioland Murders is a star-studded, madcap murder-mystery that brings back the heyday of live radio and will keep you laughing and guessing until the show-stopping finale! An all-star ensemble cast comes together in this side-splitting whodunit that lovingly recreates an era known for its big band sound and art deco look.

Very few people have seen this movie, despite the fact that it was written by George Lucas. This is a fast-moving murder mystery set in 1939 inside a radio station. Despite a series of murders, the show must go on! This movie is fun with great music and great acting.

Radioland Murders is a crazy-ride of comedy & murder-mystery produced by George Lucas & set during the 1930's at WBN Radio commencing its grand debut on radios across the land. In celebration of this, the station have a studio audience and naturally have live performances which are brilliantly depicted in such a way that make them faithful to the eyes & the listeners of the ears. As if the stress of making sure the show goes along without a hitch, none aided by it's some touchy and moody stars, a murderer is on the loose and announces riddles of his next victim over a microphone somewhere in the building. This is a very underrated movie and I have always wondered why. The movie bombed in theaters and silently vanished from our minds. There are a number of cameos in this movie and some great performances by Christopher Lloyd, Mary Stuart Masterson & Scott Michael Campbell. The best comparison would have to be Clue, as it seems to have a similar sense of comedic insanity. It will not blow you away, but if you are a fan of Old-Time Radio or even the movie Clue, this movie is a must see.

This is one of my all-time favorites. Nutty story but like being at the broadcast of a great 1930's radioshow live.
