Description

Peter Bogdonavich ("The Last Picture Show," "Paper Moon") directed this wonderful salute to the "screwball comedies" of the '40s and '50s. Superstar and Academy Award-winner Barbra Streisand ("The Prince of Tides," "Funny Girl") and Ryan O'Neal ("Irreconcilable Differences," "Love Story") star as an eccentric girl and an equally eccentric young professor who meet at a musicologist's convention and become involved in a zany chase up and down the hills of San Francisco to recover four identical flight bags containing jewels and secret government papers. This box office hit also features the film debut of comedienne Madeline Kahn ("Blazing Saddles," "Young Frankenstein").

Watch it. It’s great. It’s just as good as going on a zip line that’s 1000s I’d feet of the ground for a 2 hours and 30 minutes.
  • Great Nostalgic Comedy

This movie was continuous laughs. Very uplifting comedy. In addition ,this movie was a nostalgic memory trip of San Francisco in the early seventies. If you are into comedy, San Francisco, and the Seventies then this movie has it all. Barbara Streisand is at her best in this movie as well as very attractive.

One of the funniest movies ever. Doesn't ever get old.
  • Trying and dated

I really wanted to enjoy this movie, but I hated it. This entire movie is riddeled with slap-stick humor that quickly became repetitive and boring. Madeleine Khan’s nasally whiney voice just got on my nerves to where I couldn’t listen to her anymore. Ryan O’Neal is amateurish in his performance and his character is just too stupid to actually be a Ph.D. It’s absurd. Perhaps this kind of humor was funny in the 1970’s, but its very dated now. I want my money back.
  • Okay, not great.

Even though I’m big Streisand fan, I was little disappointed after buying and watching this movie, especially after reading the great reviews. Don’t misunderstand, it’s a decent movie and has it’s funny moments. But now that I’ve seen it, I’d have been better off just renting it.
