Her father (Skerritt) has his misgivings, but Lexie skates her way to the finals. Just as Lexie's headed for the top, she suffers a freak accident. With the love and support of her childhood sweetheart, Nick Peterson (Benson), Lexie transforms her personal misfortune into a heartbreaking victory. Powered by a swelling Marvin Hamlisch score and Melissa Manchester's smash hit theme song, "Through the Eyes of Love," ICE CASTLES is an inspirational drama guaranteed to leave a lump in your throat.

When I was a little girl, I lived down the street from Lynn-Holly Johnson. All of the little girls in the neighborhood wanted to be her. This was a big favorite with my friends and me. I bought the movie for the memories. I thought it would be one of those movies you like as a kid and not as an adult. I was wrong. The caliber of the actors in the film makes the movie viewable today. The ending still gets me...

I watched it in 1979. It has the climax ending all those 70s movies were good for, like "and justice for all" and "Officer and a gentleman" which I miss in todays movies.
