Description

Liam Neeson (Schindler’s List, Taken) stars as the unlikely hero Ottway in this undeniably suspenseful and powerful survival adventure. After their plane crashes into the remote Alaskan wilderness, a roughneck group of oil drillers is forced to find a way back to civilization. As Ottway leads the injured survivors through the brutal snow and ice, they are relentlessly tracked by a vicious pack of rogue wolves that will do anything to defend their territory. Adrenaline-fueled, action-packed and loaded with some of the most intense and brutally realistic attack scenes ever filmed, The Grey is being hailed as “a thriller you can sink your teeth into!” (The Washington Post)

First off, I would like to state that I never write reviews but this film impacted me and still continues to do so. People that disliked this movie do so simply because they didn’t like the amount of action or the wolves behavior seemed far fetched, which entirely wasn’t the point of the whole movie. Judging this movie for the action alone is like walking into transformers and hating it because it wasn’t a horror film. This movie explores depression and how far a man who places no value in his life will go to survive when he truly has nothing to live for. It shows what it means to be human. This movie has such an in depth psychological perspective that not many people get to view, and it’s sad that it went unrecognized by the majority of people that watched it. 10\10 and a truly moving and emotional film.

Just one question: Did they pay someone to write this script? They should have saved the money to pay for us to suffer through this pompous, pretentious, insane shallow drivel.

No real resolution and a terrible ending.
  • Sadly Unrealistic

In a plane crash in a remote location one does not leave the crash site, especially when the crashed aircraft provides some shelter from the weather and hungry carnivores.

Great movie, I see a lot of reviews crying about the ending, it’s up to the viewer to interpret the ending. This story was never meant to have a happy ending. Get a grip people.

The chicken-poop ending wrecked what was an exceeding good flick. It played out Pop's poem, but left it hanging. Might give Frank Stockton a run for his money.

I usually like the movies of Liam Neeson and Dermot Mulroney, but they just could not save this one. Plot is nonsensical and disjointed, and script relies mostly on one or two four letter words.
