    Simply Fabulous! I was in India in the early 90s, this film captured so many of the precious gems. Well done cast, crew, director, and music score! Thank You, India.

    It just wasn't funny! Within minutes you knew this was a bunch of big names doing a movie for a paycheck. When the mundane cliche "If she dies, she dies..." came out as if it was somentous laugh I knew we had a loser on our hands. If I hadn't paid for it I might have given it 2 stars.

    I found the story very heart warming and uplifting. But. honestly, who can watch Judi Dench, Bill Nighy, Maggie Smith and Dev Patel together in one movie and not enjoy every moment of it! :) If you love British art, their acting, style and intelligence of characters - you will absolutely LOVE this film!

    I always wonder what good actors must feel like when they're on the set of such a poorly directed film. This was supposed to be a comedy, but it turned out to be a sad commentary on some very sad, elderly people. Lots of predictable cliches about getting old, and John Madden never fully develops the main characters. Limp writing and weak direction. I kept thinking "this is going to get better," but it never did.
