Description

Michelle Williams plays twenty-eight-year-old Margot, happily married to Lou (Seth Rogen), a good-natured cookbook author. But when Margot meets Daniel (Luke Kirby), a handsome artist who lives across the street, their mutual attraction is undeniable. Swelteringly hot, bright and colorful, Take This Waltz leads us, laughing, through the familiar, but uncharted question of what long-term relationships do to love, sex and our image of ourselves.

The color acting and screenplay are quite good. And then, throwing all caution to the wind, they indulge in redirecting Michelle Williams character to abandon all of her circumspect character whose behavior has been remarkably restrained and has her do a 360 . She runs off with the attractive younger man whose behaviors and her's become self absorbed in a supremely selfish way belying her characters 2/3 of the movies actions. There is something so distasteful about being setup by screenwriters that manipulate characters to in this case supposedly follow "love" . Ridiculous, and bizarre. If the careful behavior aspect had been explored in a sensitive and responsible way ,this would have been a lovely ,even truly fine movie. Michelle Williams astonishing acting skills and vulnerability are wasted in the final 20 minutes of this selfish romp.

I went to see this in the theater. I forced myself to sit through the whole thing while OVER HALF of the people watching walked out after the first half of the film (I’m assuming out of pure boredom). I am a devoted indie fan and while this film did have one or two poignant moments, “new things get old” and “life has a gap, it just does, you don’t drive yourself crazy trying to fill it”, I am sorry to say that most of the film was complete pretentious garbage. Don’t waste your money, but more importantly don’t waste your time.

good movies make you wander, ask questions and imagine. The scene in the bar is like nothing I have ever seen -- fantastic dialog and superbly acted. Have the feeling girls like this movie more than dudes. nothing wrong with that. enjoy it!

You could jump off a seaside cliff and drown in the story of this movie, I don't know how anyone could not feel any emotion from it, it's heart breaking. The story could potentially leave a bad taste in your mouth, but the beautiful lighting, acting and cinematography make it enjoyable regardless if you can relate to the story or not.
  • It is a great movie, and great acting

The movie was portraying a young marriage where you don't really know why you are together but you are until you meet the right person for you and then all you know that you have to be with that person no matter what. Wonderful acting and a great two hour entertainment. They did the best they can with this movie. I highly recommend it.
  • Began and ended in humiliation

Well, just like the title.. It's not a romantic movie but a story about a poor man met a right woman at a wrong time. This also made me wonder why so many people use ' I just don't wanna hurt someone ' as an excuse to cover their immature emotions.. The end is a little provoking to me and I kept thinking who on earth wrote this script...
  • Annoying Flick

I don't hate many movies, but this one really irked me. The main character's adorable, sure, but she's also crazy and immature, incapable of handling her emotions, crying practically every scene. Other people seem to fall for the "new love", but personally I found the romance to be empty. Actually, empty is the best word to describe this film.
  • Who wrote the script?

Worst movie ! The writer for this needs to quit and promise to NEVER write another film script. This must be a Highschool girl's directing dream come true, her dad must love her and dished out all the money for this awful, BORING and incoherent movie..
