    By apples are everywhere!
I first watched it at 6 them again at age 9 , it was mesmerizing and was gripped to my seat , I’ve never seen adventure films or anything beyond pg-13 at the time and it made me love all films . I began to see why some people like making films , cartoons of all kinds are fun to watch , this one has no bounds for entertainment hoping for the little hobbit to make it out alive in the wilderness .. love the music as a kid . Only thing that scared me was the screen going black the moment the climax was high lol ..

The Hobbit book is my favorite book, I was disappointed with the hobbit trilogy, I remembered I watched this movie about 10 years ago, and decided to watch it again. I have watched this movie at least once a week for the past month or two. Although the art style is a bit offputting, you get used to it in about 10 or 15 minutes. This is almost a page for page rendition of the book in movie form, only cutting out Beorn, the Arkenstone, and Bilbo‘s house for sale. The movie’s soundtrack is phenomenal, as well as the art, once you get used to it. The voice acting is top notch as well! A must watch for any Tolkien fan, this movie is definitely worth your time!

At least it’s a lot better than the Peter Jackson Hobbit. They don’t need to tie into Ralph Bakshi’s “Lord of the Rings” in every other darn scene.

This is still my movie of choice. I watch it often. I am truly glad she introduced it to me. The art is amazing. This is a different version from vhs. This must be the TV version.

The only Hobbit film you need to see. The voice acting and soundtrack are second to none. No dragging story or side quest filler.
  • A fun abbreviated version of the book.

I love the book which is much more detailed. I saw this film long before I read Tolkien’s. It’s a fun movie and a good intro to the story. If you haven’t already do yourself a favor and read the book too.

Grew up with this film. Great adaptation of the book. Wonderful animation combined with a watercolor painting type background. I still enjoy watching this movie after 30+ years.
