Description

From Director Roman Polanski comes the chilling classic that birthed a new direction in horror. From Ira Levin’s best-selling novel, "Rosemary's Baby" tells the story of a young newlywed couple who are expecting their first child. Like most first-time mothers, Rosemary (Mia Farrow) experiences confusion and fear. Her husband (John Cassavetes), an ambitious but unsuccessful actor, makes a pact with the Devil that promises to send his career skyward. The performances are extraordinary, notably Ruth Gordon's Oscar® winning performance as an over solicitous next-door neighbor.

I don't understand critics. Why is this so highly rated? It may have been something in the 60s but not now. My wife and I watch a classic horror movie every year on Halloween and this year my wife had to keep me awake. Rosemary's Baby drags and is completely irrelevant and pointless. I was told it was a "slow burn" but those usually have a pay off... it has NO pay off. Don't expect one. Total waste of time.

This terrifying 60s horror classic is what a quality horror flick should be! I sometimes enjoy a really gory horror movie, but this classic proves that you don’t need any blood and gore to tell a good horror story! Sometimes, a lot of suspense and the power of suggestion is enough to give anyone a good scare, as Ira Levin, who wrote the book from which the movie was adapted, probably knew very well! Kudos to Mia Farrow and everyone else involved for creating this masterpiece!

How could this get a 99% on rotten tomatoes? The only way this movie would have been good is if she would have killed all the witches. That would have been the only decent ending to this satanic garbage movie.

This scared the pants of the original audience back in 1968 and it certainly has legs. It had enough of an impact on me that I would definitely put it on my must-see list, but one viewing is enough to last a lifetime. (The Exorcist I can watch once every five to ten years, but Rosemary's Baby only once.) It put Mia Farrow on the map and her casting as the sweet, gentle Rosemary could not have been better, the roles of her kind, elderly neighbors were played brilliantly by Ruth Gordon and Sidney Blackmer. The story is equal to the very best that Stephen King or any other horror writer could ever conceive. But, again, I could only watch it once. It was too horrifying - even now, some 50 years later.

ok so this movie was ok i mean it wasn’t the scariest movie i ever saw but i have to give everyone who was in it a round of applause just to be nice. Mia farrow did a fine job acting as rosemary and just to make everything short. this movie wasn’t the best but i have to give it a 3 stars but i have to say that this is the only scary movie that i watch because there is no blood or gore and stuff like that. but overall this was a ok movie not the greatest but it was ok.

This is indeed one of the greatest movies ever made. A unique cinematic experience. If you think this film is boring it is because you have a attention span of a goldfish.
  • One of the best horror movies- but an HD print?

Judging by the trailer, this is NOT a HIGH DEFINITION copy of the film... I imagine that would require a new print. Maybe the trailer is not representative of the film... ITunes, please would you give us an answer please? I do not want to purchase a foggy copy of a brilliant movie. Thanks for your attention to this matter.
