Description

Tyler Perry delivers a dynamic performance as Detroit homicide detective/psychologist Dr. Alex Cross, the popular character created by best-selling novelist James Patterson. While tracking down a vicious serial killer (Matthew Fox), Cross nearly meets his match when the case shifts from a high stakes game of cat-and-mouse into a personal mission. Soon, the detective is pushed to the very edge of his moral and psychological limits in this taut, exciting action-thriller.

Tyler Perry is terrific as the intelligent and intense defective and psychologist Alex Cross. I truly enjoyed the movie.

Love this movie, a lot of action, and a sad love story. Superb cast and directing, hope to see a new -Alex Cross movie soon.

Tyler Perry can really act and his performance is great, but it can't begin to salvage this oinker. This is the most generically bland "thriller" I have ever seen. Makes Tom Cruise's dreadful Jack Reacher seem scorchingly good. The plot is incoherent and you have to fill in enough blanks to make another movie for anything to make any kind of sense. The shooting locations in Detroit were cool, but not worth your time. Ms. Tyson turns in a positively ridiculous and shrill portrayal of Cross' mother that makes you want her dead in the first 4 minutes of the movie. Boo. Ick.
  • Would be good (if they followed the storyline)

The only thing similar about this adaptation, was that the killer offs Alex's wife. This was the Cross book I was most looking forward to, and they Butchered it. Tyler Perry and Mathew Fox both seem to be fairly good actors, but this movie was a crying shame. Rent it if you want, but I cannot recommend buying it.

I think this was different path for Tyler Perry from the previous Madea movies he's done. And despite the bad reviews this has received, I think the movie was great. Matthew Fox also did excellent in this movie and his character was one scary individual.

This movie was amazing: the cast was pretty good and unlike other detective movies, this one provides you with the view of both the good and bad guy. I don't understand why so many people dislike it, I thought it was one of the best movies so far.

Really good, unpredictable thriller with *awesome* turn by Matthew Fox as villain. I think a lot of the bad reviews are really about wanting to dislike Tyler Perry, and while he's not on Morgan Freeman's level, he gets the job done. Just like the movie.

I liked this movie thought Tyler Perry did a good job, I think he did a better job than his role in "Mr Deeds. Unless I missed something I didn't like the fact that they didn't say what happened with Monica. They could have elaborated on what happened they just left it up to the imagination. It didn't leave me wanting more. It just left me wanting an explanation on what happened to her
  • Pass on this one!

I don't really likeTyler Perry, but I certainly know how to be objective. After all, I can't stand Nicholas Cage and "Art of War" was one of my favorite movies ever. The role would've been more believable had it been Denzel Washington or Morgan Freeman. However, the first 1/3 of the movie was fantastic. By the middle, it became very predictable. Even down to the played out fight scene at the end. Had this been 1995, it would've been a hit, sans Perry. But in 2013, moviegoers deserve much better. Not recommended.
