Description

Academy Award and Golden Globe-winner Denzel Washington ("Training Day," "American Gangster") stars as John Q. Archibald, an ordinary man who works at a factory and takes care of his family. But when John Q.'s young son needs an emergency heart transplant -- an operation that he can't afford and his health insurance won't cover -- John Q. will do anything to keep his son alive. As time and options run out, a desperate gamble becomes the only hope for John Q, as he takes an unwitting group of people hostage in the hospital emergency room. Now as many in the ER need medical care themselves and John Q. faces off with veteran police hostage negotiator and quick-tempered police chief, can a nonviolent end be found to a desperate situation?

    At the time of this movies release this was the most amazing performance Denzel ever did. Only heartless monsters without kids would think this is a “boring drawn out movie”. Five stars and I couldn’t be happier with it. All parents should see this movie. Brings me to tears every time.

    Same person is posting multiple positive comments, so beware. Review the linguistics and the pattern emerges. Apparently, the user posting under multiple accounts must really love D. W. Probably one of those I-am-your-biggest-fan fanatics. Regardless, boring movie, canned plot, highly predictable scenes, and that same stoic face from Washington. He has the same bland facial expressions in every movie, kind of like he needs anger management courses or something imho, and yes, only my opinion (no harm, no foul). Yes, he has made some great movies, but this is not one of them. Sincerely

    This is easily one of Denzel Washington's best movies. It will keep you on the edge of your seat, and will definitely cause some tears. This movie is so moving and so amazing, I don't know how the critics didn't enjoy it.

    This movie is great!! ...the performances in this drive the movie...everyone does AMAZING and you can relate to these people as characters...>HOWEVER<..John Q's wife will get on your last nerves because of how annoying she acts and talks!!! i cant stand her...but thank god shes not in the movie for a good portion of it....but this move is a great look about how far a father will go to save his son...9/10
