I never saw this in the theaters when it came out, and I never paid any attention to it as I'm not one to be bonkers about dinosaurs. But around 1995 I encountered the second half of the film being played on a TV set in a local Walmart, and somehow those scenes stayed with me in the back of my mind. Just three days ago I suddenly remembered it and thought I'd give it a try just on a whim. Much to my surprise, I fell in love with it, and it made me cry at least three times! I've got a new favorite now and am sad to just now learn that it apparently flopped in the theater. It's a sweet and gorgeously animated work, and sure beats the heck out of all the glop coming out now and *especially* all that Pixar/CGI trash any day! VERY HIGHLY recommended! :D
