Description

Oscar® winner Robert De Niro (Raging Bull, Silver Linings Playbook) and Oscar® nominee Sylvester Stallone (the Rocky films, The Expendables) play Billy “The Kid” McDonnen and Henry “Razor” Sharp, two local Pittsburgh fighters whose fierce rivalry put them in the national spotlight. Each had scored a victory against the other during their heyday, but in 1983, on the eve of their decisive third match, Razor suddenly announced his retirement, refusing to explain why but effectively delivering a knock-out punch to both their careers. Thirty years later, boxing promoter Dante Slate Jr., seeing big dollar signs, makes them an offer they can’t refuse: to re-enter the ring and settle the score once and for all.

A delightful, charming and flat out funny movie! Love Sly, love DeNiro. The plot may be a tad hokey but, hey, SLY & DENIRO! 'Nuf said. It's a keeper. They made me smile and laugh. I bought it to watch again and again. But where is the soundtrack on ITunes?? The music was cool too! SOUNDTRACK!

I loved this story…well done drama and comedy. Crtitics reviews are 90% negative on everything…they all seem to live on the corner of bitter and wrong!

Though, I guess I should have expected that from a movie with Stallone in it.

I thought it was an ok movie. Not really much originality, but it was entertaining. I can say I’m sick of the scenes (like the start of the movie), where it’s like ESPN or some TV sports piece. Way overdone and it annoys the heck out of me. Stallone’s acting was great, and I enjoyed Deniro too. But, BUT…what happened to kim Basinger? I always remembered her being a pretty good actor, but in this movie she was terrible. It was like she was just reading her lines. Very unconvincing.

Not sure what movie the critics were watching or what they expected. I thought this was great - not spectacular - but great. It did not change the world, but I was entertained and had some laughs too...

Not sure why critics gave this movie negative reviews. Definitely better than what I thought it'd be. Stallone and De Niro made a great comedy/drama reprising their roles as boxers from the past who have the determination and will power for one more fight.

you want to know what the problems with the critics are? It’s simple: they judge every film as if it’s supposed to be the next cure for cancer. And when the film doesn’t supply that cure… “Grudge Match” features to icons of the film industry in an entertaining movie. That’s all anyone can ask. So watch it, and enjoy.
  • These Critics Need A New Job

That was one of the most entertaining and fun movie I've seen in years. These critics need to get their eyes, ears and gut checked. Rotten? Really? I guess us common folks are too dumb and easily amused to get what's actually wrong with the movie. Then again, I never really cared to listen to what the critics say. They're 95% wrong.
