You can't go wrong with this film from the creators of AMERICAN HORROR STIRY and Nip Tuck… Ryan Murphy has proved that he is a true talented filmmaker with this sophisticated well-written, well acted and well directed remake.. The blood comes in batches and the body count rises. This has become my fave new horror movie in YEARS!!! The cinematography is amazing. Especially at night, the moonlit scenes, the small town feel - its just a cool cool horror film. hope you enjoy this nice surprise hit as much as i did.

This movie blends a small town horror flick with a mystery thriller in the best ways. It's like a modern Friday the 13th or Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Being a big fan of TTTDSD I went into this film knowing very little and not expecting much. Aside from the unnecessary sex and language I can say it lives up to the original and in some ways surpassed it. The use of the old film and it's back story weaved throughout was a nice touch. A simple reedit eliminating the overt sex and anti religious parts and you got a better movie.

I was blown away by this film! Of course I hadn't known it was produced by Ryan Murphy beforehand, but if I had, you bet I'd have bought it that much faster! What can I say? I've never seen the original, but I've always been fascinated with horror. The acting is spot-on, and it's just over the top fun! I can't wait to watch this film again on Halloween.

Better than the original ( not saying much there ) and effective use of flashbacks. Unfortunately the movie thrives on dropping numerous clues that the Phantom Killer could be anyone the main actress encounters, and then throws out an unpredictable twist that reminded me of a Scream movie. I was so disappointed with the way it concluded that I took 2 stars away. Until that point, most horror film fans should enjoy the ride. Overall, clever take on the original but best to wait for the price to drop and then rent.

Charles B. Pierce would be very disappointed in this “so-called film.” The graphic violence, sex, and language was totally uncalled for. Wish I could have a refund for this. I’m glad it wasn’t shown in Texarkana now.

Thought it was solid. Well-filmed, decent story and a bit more interesting than your average slasher. Pretty bloody and gory too. And a little scary. Thought it was worth the 9.99 I paid for it.
