Description

Monsieur Hulot, Jacques Tati’s endearing clown, takes a holiday at a seaside resort, where his presence provokes one catastrophe after another. Tati’s masterpiece of gentle slapstick is a series of effortlessly well-choreographed sight gags involving dogs, boats, and firecrackers; it was the first entry in the Hulot series and the film that launched its maker to international stardom.

When I first saw Tati' "Mon Oncle", I fell in love with his world. I then watched everything he made. At first, I didn't fully enjoy the black and white format of "M. Hulot's Holiday". But this really grew on me. His attention to detail is extraordinary. I am so very happy that his work is now on iTunes! Thank you!

I have owned this movie for like twenty years and I watch it at least once a year. We LOVE IT ! Do not let the fact that there are subtitles put you off. This movie is all about the site gags and situations. You could watch it with the sound off and totally get it. But watch it with the sound on for the little things that set off the situations. The only things this movie is “lacking” is violence, gore, depressing drama and obscenities. It you can get along without those for a while take a vacation with Monsieur (Mr.) Hulot.
