Description

What if the ghastly images and abominations haunting our collective nightmares actually exist? Writer/director Adam Green sets out to make a documentary exploring this tantalizing premise after being contacted by a mysterious man named William Dekker (Ray Wise). Dekker claims he can prove that “monsters are real” and insists these grotesque creatures are forgotten, hideously deformed humanoids inhabiting a vast, underground metropolis of the damned. Determined to expose the truth, Green embarks on a bone-chilling odyssey and gets more than he bargains for when he dares to go Digging Up The Marrow.

    This movie had so much going for it straight out of the gate. It was a rather fun ride, but my main complaint will be the lack of monster footage. Great performances by the cast.

    Digging Up The Marrow is a movie that many would pass over based on its cover, its not very well-known, and, most of all, it is "found footage." BUT, you will be pleasently surprised, thrilled, and scared upon viewing. Great movie, amazing and original concept, superb acting, a must-watch for all horror movie fanatics.

    One of the more interesting horror flicks I’ve seen all year. This movie is captivatingly creative. Digging Up the Marrow is best described as The Descent meets Spinal Tap with some E.T. sense of wonder sprinkled on top. If this movie proves anything, it proves that Adam Green is one of the most interesting and inventive writer/directors working today. Watch it!

    I really liked the idea/story of this movie and some of the acting was good (the crazy detective). But, in the end this came off leaving me wanting a LOT more than what was offered. I realize low budget movies are not going to have the same cool effects/creatures/etc. as the big movie houses can produce, but honestly, a LOT of the iTunes offerings in Horror and Sci-Fi are little better than the SyFy Channel stuff. And we all know how “good” those are. An ok rental…nothing more.
