Departing a Caribbean eco-paradise on their return flight to the U. S. the vacationers and honeymooners aboard don't realize that their real adventure is just beginning. Hidden on the ill-fated plane are army ants, a super-organism comprised of millions of individuals, whose only imperative is survival. Emerging thru the tiniest spaces of the aircraft's interior as individuals they quickly coalesce into a black swarm and attack, to feed and or to defend themselves. Once they overwhelm a victim there is no escape. If that terror isn't enough there is a second threat to their survival when the pilot is refused permission to land, anywhere - because the ants are like the plague or bird flu that might not be able to be contained. The threat is considered so serious that if they attempt to land in the U. S. F16's are in the air ready to shoot them down. It's now up to the pilot, a woman who has her young daughter aboard as a passenger, to get everyone down safely. Somewhere. If you feel something crawling up your leg better hope it doesn't bite. . . .
