The Strain, Season 2

It's awesome. A cult classic.

… and would be be even better with Zack gone :-)

I continue to watch this ridiculous show for the special effects, which are IMO very good. I simply fast forward through all the slow melodramatic sequences, which typifies pretty much all of them, and go straight for the vamp fights. The acting borders on abysmal, and the direction appears conducted under the influence of bad gin. I wish i had something better to say. I really liked the concept.

I mostly enjoyed Season 1, but Season 2 is doing nothing remarkable. The new kid playing Zack evokes no empathy from me as the previous actor did. I like his character less than Dutch and now Eph has also lost me. Where is this season going? It feels lost and pointless.

Loved the books, really an awesome read. The series was looking good too. This new kid cast as the son of Zac makes season 2 almost too painful to watch. Having read the books, know he is in for the long haul, which is too bad. The cute kid they had in season one must have got a better offer.

I really wanted to like this show. Mere words can't describe how terrible it is,

thank god they got rid of Eph’s horrible wig.
