Description

Ten-year-old Sakura lives a pretty normal life with her older brother, Toya, and widowed father, Fujitaka. Or she did, until the day she returned home from school to discover a glowing book in her father’s study. After opening the book and releasing the cards within, Sakura is tasked with collecting each of these magical cards, while trying to live the life of a normal fourth grader. In the monumental task of collecting all the cards, Sakura must rely on her friends and family, and decide what she finds most important in life. After a harrowing journey to collect the cards and prove her worth as their master, Sakura finds herself in a whole new world of trouble as mysterious events begin to threaten the small town of Tomoeda. To make matters worse, Yukito seems to be having some unexplained troubles of his own. With no cards left on the loose, Sakura must form a special bond with her cards to quell each new disturbance, and discover what could possibly be causing them before the lives of Tomoeda’s residents are damaged beyond repair!

Can’t believe I actually love this anime ❤️ it’s better than regular American tv where all animation appeals to kids this show appeals to all ages with its fun fantasy action and light hearted drama another great anime worth watching.

I don’t mind subtitles but I also watched the second English dub and was impressed. The English version isn’t on iTunes. You have to go to Funimation, Crunchyroll or Netflix and pay a subscription fee after your free trial ends. I watched it in both English and Japanese many times on dvd, blu ray and streaming.

This is not the same show I grew up with, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE RELEASE THE AMERICAN VERSION ‘CardCaptors’....or at least THIS version with English audio(Honestly, even THEN it won’t be the same, not even close, not without that epic American opening sequence...seriously if your a fan and missed the Cartoon Network version in the mid 2000s, check it on YouTube and you’ll get why I’m being so picky!) until then, iTunes, you don’t have a sale, SORRY

Since my youth I have been completely obsessed with any and every completed work CLAMP has ever done. This series by far is my favorite. The story and art are comparable to anything Miyazaki has done as far as I feel. CLAMP won my heart at the age of 8 when this originally aired in the States. Forever and always CLAMP! Thank you for the inspiration to become an artist in the first place. (Someone who can convey all the magic and emotion of this series deserves to sit amongst the masters!) xoxo -Ina :)
  • Before you buy

Before you buy know that this is in Japanese with English subtitles (unless you encounter one of the issues some others have had where the subtitles don't work). I love this show (both when it first came out and now), but when I first saw it it was in English and stupidly I thought this would be the same; it's not. I wouldn't be as upset about that fact as I am if I had been informed beforehand that it wasn't in English and hadn't bought the entire series before finding out. The show is still enjoyable but I do feel ripped off at the fact that I thought I was buying one product and got a different one; especially as I bought this to listen to in the background while unpacking (for the first run before sitting down and rewatching) and, as I don't speak/understand Japanese, that was impossible. Another reason this annoys me is that I thoroughly enjoy the English voice actors and was looking forward to hearing them. If you don't mind the Japanese voice actors or only getting by with subtitle then definitely consider getting this show; if either of those things makes you leery consider previewing one episodes before committing to paying for this. If I had I probably wouldn't have bought this at all. The (English) show rates 5 stars for me, but this version (and my experiences with it) only gets one star, and that’s only because they make you give one to leave a review.
  • It's perfect

I'm not sure what everyone was talking about in the reviews, but I gave it the benefit of the doubt. I bought the first episode to see if I would have the same problem. Nope, I had no trouble with the download (it was fast and easy), no trouble with the subtitles (kept up with the voices and was easy to read), and the picture and sound was crystal clear. I loved this anime when I was a kid and I love that I can watch it whenever I want now. Maybe its a compatability problem that people were experiencing before, but don't let that discourage you from reliving your childhood. Plus it's a LOT cheaper to buy here than any other place I've looked.
