    i miss the old episodes of the simpsons. the new episodes lack the wit that brought us Mr. Burns beloved bear Bo-Bo in season 5 and the crazy judge who tethered Homer and Bart to each other. these new episodes have wit you would sometimes expect from a children's show. that being said there are still episode that i found very amusing such as The Town and Pork and burns, but others wouldn't make me even chuckle.

    This show is good but it should of ended already because it's getting kind of bad. I'd rate this a 5/10. I used to rate it a 9/10 until it went downhill.

    The Simpsons were honest, simple and great back in the day. I remember renting VHS movies while stationed in Germany in 1989-1991. There were Simpson shorts at the end. Pretty cool. I miss the simple animation of the early episodes. Now, there is way too much detail in the charactors and background. Thats not what made the Simpsons great. They have seemed to run their course like the Rolling Stones. They are a living phenomenom but have become their own "cover band".

    The regular episodes have long since lost their spark. I only tune in for the Halloween episodes now. And this year's episode was lousy. Such a shame. Oh well. It'll keep going on and on out of inertia, I suppose. And people will give it 5-star ratings... but mostly I think people get into a position where they start rating the brand rather than the show itself. And fondness for the old show colors their views of what it's become.

    I loved the older season of The Simpsons, and the movie. Let's hope this season of the show is great! The last few seasons of the show before this were funny and charming.
