Legends of the Rangers brought in another dynamic, to an otherwise cliche organization within Babylon 5. It was my understanding that this was to be the start of a new series, which SciFi refused to fund. All of the politics aside, I thought this movie was a great edition to the B5 story arc, which portrayed Rangers in a realistic light. The changes in Season 5 effects everyone throughout the organization and how it opperates.
  • Not bad.

Though I was kind of expecting more of a prequil kind of thing. Legend of the Rangers was better say than "Alexander" but not as exciting-sit-on-the-edge-of-your-seat as the Transformers movie.
  • Actually very good

I was not expecting much, given the previous 4 reviews. Actually, though, I found this to be among the better Babylon 5 programs I've seen. The sets were better than the 2 shows (B5 and Crusade), and the characters and dialog were less wooden and moved right along. It's a pity it didn't get picked up, maybe some day we will get to see another B5 show...

While I think B5 was probably one of the best SCI-FI series on television, Legend was probably one of the worst 'Made for TV Movies' they ever made. Its not really bad and it has been some time since I saw this movie. A lot of B5 evolves over a series of episodes and the Rangers are introduced on the 2nd & 3rd seasons in the regular B5 series (iirc). They had several sayings. One of these was, "We live for the one, we die for the one." or "I live for the one, I die for the one..." which has a lot of meaning and was pretty cool ... however in the Legend the Rangers turn into Spartans, only not as smart. They must stand their ground and fight, no matter what and die - if they are not able to win (they can not flee as one episode deals with a Ranger Captain that decides to flee and save his people). In the B5 series the Rangers were an elite, covert intelligence/military orgazination - with a strong emphasis on intelligence. I guess this new (and seemingly contrived situtation) put me off ... however I would say check out the rest of B5. Its a bit dated EFX wise, but when you look beyond that, you have a very good series - as good as anything else, probably a lot more mature/different/original/exciting/better. :) G'kar is always cool, even when he loses it! And Lita Alexander (she's not in Legend) is cool. David Martell (Ranger Captain) is OK as is much of the rest of the cast (if not some what wooden).

Great movie. I own it on DVD, however. G'Kar has a great role in this movie. Some of the acting does fall short, but for the most part the story line was great. Excellent Music Score on this film as well. Will all of the made for TV Movies be released on iTunes?
