Description

The Closer delivers in season four as LAPD Deputy Police Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson (Golden Globe-winner and Emmy Award-nominee Kyra Sedgwick) faces new challenges, both personally and professionally. A former Atlanta detective who moved to Los Angeles to head a special police department unit that solves sensitive, high-profile murder cases, Brenda is a top-notch investigator. Yet despite her brilliance as an interrogator, she is hopeless at LAPD politics. She faces antagonistic roadblocks, even from her peers, and must manage a team that remains wary of her unconventional style. Brenda also clashes with her fiance, FBI agent Fritz Howard (Jon Tenney), and with her parents. The Screen Actors Guild Award-nominated ensemble cast is back. The drama starts as Brenda tracks an arsonist while a reporter follows her every move. Brenda and Fritz struggle with moving into a new home, attempt to plan a wedding and, despite Brenda's need for independence and the demands of her job, grow closer.

  • The Show Must Go On...

I agree that this show is one of the best in writing and acting on cable. I look forward to the 5th season and many more to come. Thanks to iTunes I can own it and watch on my time as well. The fact that they mix humor as well as serious detective drama works for me! They all have really great chemistry and Kyra is awesome.
  • Never mind the accent, superb show.

Being from Atlanta, her overdone Miss. Scarlet Southern accent was a little much for me at first, but now it has became engaging and part of her persona that sets her apart from her BRILLIANT yet a-typical by the book supporting cast of detectives. The accent is also a tool used to her advantage to catch the perps off guard. She is so fragile, and fearful of life, counterbalanced by Fritz and yet positionally she is so powerful, and that is what makes this character and entire show so addictive. If you like this, check out "Life", two seasons on iTunes already. Fantastic also! Brenda is a cobra, beautiful and lithe and her beauty makes her appear apparently harmless, then BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAM!!!!!!!!!!! she's got you caught in a web of lies and off to the po-po patch you go!
  • This is the best of any show on TV

At the end of Time Bomb, I could barely stand the fact that it would be three months before the new episodes were aired. I feel like I know the characters on the show personally and care about what happens to them. Brilliant, brilliant work. My only request would be to bring back the wonderful Jason O'Mara (Bill Croelik) in some new capacity as a regular character. Perfection.

This show is practically perfect in everyway. Having never got into any of the criminal dramas, I gave this show a shot because I really admire Kyra Sedgwick. The show does not dissapoint -- the cast has great chemistry and the writing is phenomenal. It's a perfect blend of humor, drama and intrigue that will keep you coming back week after week!

The Closer is my favorite show. I watch/listen to each season over and over. Laugh, cry, empathize the whole gamut. My favorite characters after Brenda Leigh and Fritz are Lts. Provenza and Flynn. Great acting by the entire ensemble. Keep it coming.
  • Can the team get any better?

I've been watching this show since day ONE and it gets better and better. I love the separate personalities of each team player (Detective Sanchez and Detective Daniels are my FAVE characters), and the skills they bring to the crime scene. Brenda Johnson is so complex, yet real to today's woman's issues. Her chocolate fixation makes me laugh everytime. Thanks for the Season Pass, ITunes, it was a smart move.
  • They're back! Episode 11

A much too long break for the best show on TV, however the follow up to what I thought was the end of season finale was a bit of a let down even though I was glad it turned out the way it did (trying not to spoil the episode for you). Glad to see them back and the show is as sharp as ever.
  • Great show-Price not so Great

The season pass is more expensive then the actual cost of the individual shows. So are we getting a refund for the extra amount we were charged or a credit? Now the question is... Is the season pass worthwhile. I don't think so.
  • Still a great show-more episodes January 26th

Brenda's personal life is a mess, the cases are still interesting and the rest of the PHD is still running on all cylinders. Only drawback is the lag time between "Time Bomb" and the new episodes starting end of January 2009.
