While I enjoy the diversity of the pilot's experience, I get irritated when inaccurate footage or statements are included. Case in point - Drakes last flight had him in a Cessna 206, with an open door. He was correct that the flaps wouldn't extend with the door ajar - so what does the next shot show? The flops extended. Absolutely not - can't happen! Not with the door open. The background announcer then stated that Drake could crash without the flaps. Wrong! Has anyone ever done a power-on landing? Another gripe was when Drake was flying the tail dragger with skies to land on a glacier. Next shot was the 206 again - with no skies, and he was looking for a way to land! Give me a break! And how about not mixing up shots of tail draggers with tricycle gear - supposedly when flying the same plane. And try not to make a turboprop sound like a piston powered plane. Good series, but needs more accurate editing.

This series highlights the bush pilots that deal with offbeat operations that only occur in Alaska. It does a great job of showing a diversity of operations from medical to avalanche control to tourism to mining support and the roles they play. Some of the pilots in this series are at the top of their game and are active in the general aviation community. As a pilot who only gets few hours in Alaska a year this is a great fix until I get back!
