  • Now THIS is how you do a show about time travel!

A very carefully crafted, but elegantly simple show. Requiring careful thought and more than a little introspection. A fine sampling of the maddest of mad science. Highly recommended.

This show is a masterpiece. From character design and development, to the underlying yet ever present masterful story, this show is great. It shows just how a show about time travel and science, while being serious and dark, can be funny and quick witted at the same time. The show starts of fairly slow, though if you can get past the first 9 episodes, the payoff in the long run is well worth the wait! The ending of the ninth episode, without spoiling things, drastically changes the focus of the show from expirimentation to future-changing. By the end, you are so invested in the characters that you almost don't want to watch the next episode, because this show has a way of changing things in the blink of an eye. It has a very solid ending, and ranks as one of my top 5 shows of all time, and rightfully so. 10/10!

Chaos;Head first, then Steins;Gate and finally, Robotics;Notes so that you see the complete series in order. All of these 3 are masterpieces.
  • ...True Story. XD

From personal experience, do NOT - I repeat - DO NOT turn it off until you're all the way through the first episode! I swear, I wasn't hooked at ALL when I first watched this show and I was ready to turn it off, but the last ten seconds of the first episode just grabbed my attention and I just had to finish this thing! Now, it's probably my all-time favorite anime, with the exception of the masterpiece that is Cowboy Bebop! ...True story.

I consider myself to be a weaboo and as such I often find it very difficult to like the english version of an anime i enjoy. Fortunately, this isn't the case with steins gate as the cast of voice actors along with the writing make this anime a joy to watch in both japanese AND english.

I've have never seen an entire anime other than Steins;Gate. The furries, androgynous characters, annoying protagonists, and simply the oddities of Japanese culture usually turn me off of the stuff. Steins;gate, however, became one of my favorite shows in the end. The series starts off a bit slow, but it takes the time it requires to get the viewer to familiarize themself with the characters and plot elements (which is a good thing since the concept can be a bit hard to understand, for those who are not familiar with time travel fiction.) The characters are wonderfully developed and it is truly a joy getting to know each of them better as the series progresses. The story is well written, filled with emotion, and several great twists. In conclusion, if you are a science fiction fan.... buy this show! If you are an anime fan..... buy this show! If you enjoy the visual media..... buy this show!

Just finished watching all 12 episodes and found myself blown away by how great this series is. The voice actors are amazing, storyline phenomenal, and the almost actual science is is pretty good to. They really created an amazing story here. It is a little confusing at some times, but in most of the story the next episode clears up the last. I will be really disappointed if itunes doesn't add the second season when it is available. All in all this series in my opinion is one of the best itunes has added recently. Every episode leaves you wanting more and lets face it that is getting harder to find with all the repeated shows that come out now. It is fresh and that is why I give it a FIVE star rating.
  • Whitty banter, and a time paradox to boot.

In a few ways, the main character is a mentaly disturbed mad scientist (go figure), and basically happens upon the means of altering time. Admittedly, this one is slow to start and may be hard for some to follow. Though if you could put up with Chaos Head or other similar shows involving repeated time paradoxes or hopping between diffferent realities, you should find this one quite ammusing when you get into the later portion of the series. Looking fowards to the second half of this series.

For those who have been angered by Funimation's 50 dollar price tag for the physical discs, another option has been given to us. So rejoice! If you haven't seen this show, give it a chance. Don't view all of the recommendations and praise as mere hype. Watch it for yourself, preferably after the next set of episodes come out. Because... if you're like me, you won't want to stop until everything is over.
