AMAZING!

Do people ever consider the psychological implications of such events? I mean it is serious. Aside from the vanity that comes with being successful, you also the fact that these children are being judged by the appearance and performance. Even if the judges or other parents are quite supportive of all participants, losing brings about questions of self worth and body issues. This can have a lingering and dangerous affect on the developing ming of child. Plus there is the issue of conformity, and efforts for success. Children should not be tanned, or expected to be glamourous with makeup. Most girls at this age don't wear makeup, don't have their hair professionally done. The fact that it is done helps create a gap between peers, and can be damaging to other children (non-participants) as they are forced to observe behavior that is inappropriate for the age but highly praised. Plus children at this age don't have the reasoning skills yet to determine the repercussions of their actions. That is why there are laws prohibiting children from getting tattoos, piercings, voting, drinking, smoking, or seeing certain movies until a certain age. Which means the parents subject the children to this. Now the parents usually have an obsession with body image, and success that pushes the children into doing such a thing. They have little regard for the known facts (maybe they are naive because their parents did the same), but this is bad. And the performances are sometimes not age appropriate and have the children not dressing in an age-appropriate manner (bikinis, etc.). This is attracts the creepy viewer. Children should never looked at in a sexual way, but these events encourage the girls to look and behave like they are older. I the TLC is lost these days with the reality shows it chooses. Instead of focusing on learning, and good behavior, it focuses on competitiveness in inappropriate forums for the controversy "wow." It is a low blow to the human race. And the channel is just slowly depleting all the good from humanity. Very saddening to watch (not the show, the channel, society, and the culture it breeds).

I watch it all the time. You probably won't understand it until you get used to it. It's a really awesome show!

Toddlers and tiaras is the best tv show is history. Nothing will make me stop watching it.
