Description

The Odd Couple stars Matthew Perry as endearing slob Oscar Madison and Thomas Lennon as uptight neat freak Felix Unger, two former college buddies who become unlikely roommates after the demise of their marriages. It's not long after Oscar lets Felix move in that Oscar fears he's made a monumental mistake. Oscar's jack-of-all-trades assistant, Dani, and his long-time agent, Teddy, have their hands full trying to keep Oscar's career as a sports radio host on track as he deals with his new living situation. Fortunately, their quirky next door neighbor Emily helps Felix adapt to his new life as a bachelor and rein in his copious eccentricities. Despite how exasperated Oscar and Felix make each other, in the end, these mismatched friends agree they can help each other move on from their divorces and somehow make this crazy living arrangement work.

This show has promise, and so far good acting, but the laugh track is horrible, distracting and really annoying. Very bad judgment having that. Your urge to laugh is cut off listening to that noise. The show is good enough (except for the laugh track) that it may have more seasons. I hope so, without that annoyance included. I would have given this 5 stars without it. sueb

I actually liked this show and here’s why: It’s something for everyone. For the people like me who grew up with Friends, it’s a chance to see Matthew Perry do a comedic role that’s the reverse of Chandler Bing. For those who like the classic Odd Couple, it’s a chance to see a new take on the show without directly stealing EVERYTHING from it. Also, it does seem to bridge generations as I did catch my 69-year-old father watching a few episodes one night. Bravo!

This TV-Series is the next big thing after How I Met Your Mother. Totally love the show

I liked it, it was in the spirit of the original tv show but Matthew Perry tried too hard, as if he tried to prove something. He should act more relaxed but at the same time also a bit more grumpy. It was the first episode, so I’ll give this show another shot but I’m not 100% convinced I’m hooked. So far, 3-4 stars only, sorry. UPDATE: After watching the second episode, I am deeply disappointed. The first episode was OK but the second one was boring and not funny at all. Again, Matthew Perry seems to try too hard, this is not the grumpy guy we expect from his role but some sort of Chandler 2.0 (from Friends) and this doesn’t fit his role in this sitcom AT ALL. There is also no real chemistry with the other main role, which is sad. I give it another chance but right now, this show is more 2 than 3 stars. UPDATE 2: After watching a couple of episodes, it got better. Still, Matthew Perry is just not „getting it right“, can’t say why but his performance has improved a little bit. They should add more stories with women and love stuff.

Somewhat erratic, but for the most part, a great ensemble cast. I particularly like Thomas Lennon - particularly when he’s being more subtle - there are times when he’s a bit over the top. I am liking Mathew Perry more and more, though I never was a fan of Friends. Dani is a perpetual gem! She can go from acerbic to sweet in the blink of an eye, and her timing is flawless. Dave Foley was great in the first episode, then……… no so great after that. All in all, though, really entertaining. Oscar’s manager is perhaps the most consistent character on the show, and a total delight!

Really enjoying this new series, it was definitely season pass worthy. It's a happy feel good type show that makes me feel better about how my OCD pales in comparison

I had high hopes that this reinterpretation of the iconic Neil Simon concept would live up to its legacy. Horrifyingly, it does not. And that's really a shame, because Thomas Lennon is one of my favourite gay actors. And Matthew Perry was one of my top six favourite cast members on Friends. This show is flabbergastingly awful. I would rather watch Rob Kardashian futilely attempt to pick up a wayward Frito from off the floor than sit through another episode of this debacle of the worst magnitude.
  • Good, could be great.

A surprisingly funny traditional sit-com, with but the laugh track needs to be toned down a LOT. I'm not one who likes laugh tracks in the first place, but I can find them tolerable if used modestly; this show needs to turn the volume down on the live audience and let the jokes speak for themselves.

Love this show! Matthew Perry and Thomas Lennon have such great chemistry! I agree that Matthew Perry seems a bit stiff in the role, but he had 10 years to perfect Chandler Bing, I’m more than hopeful he’ll have some time to get comfortable in the Felix Unger role. This show has great potential, really enjoying it so far. Refreshing to have a comedy that isn’t reliant on shock value! Great job guys!
