Oscar® winner Rachel Weisz stars in this powerful true story based on the acclaimed book, Denial: Holocaust History on Trial. When Deborah Lipstadt (Weisz) speaks out against Holocaust denier David Irving (Timothy Spall) over his falsification of history, she discovers that the stakes are higher than ever in the battle for historical truth. Now faced with a libel lawsuit in British court, Lipstadt and her attorney (Tom Wilkinson) have the heavy burden of proving that the Holocaust actually happened, in a riveting legal fight with stunning consequences.

SLOPAGANDA. Falty premises. Hideous stereotypes. Evil editorialization. Hollywood continues to beat America over the head with this type of simplistic, morbid crap, overflowing with contemptible stereotypes and hackneyed dogma.

Very good portrayals by Rachel Weisz and all the cast--beautifully shot film backed up by a majestic musical soundtrack. I enjoyed it from beginning to end.
  • Timing is right

The present day needs more movies like this, the timing is correct. It would also be an opportune time to make the movie "Judgement at Nuremberg" with Spencer Tracy, Burt Lancaster, et al, available for iTunes -the timing is more than correct.

  • As far as the movie itself...

Excellent! Just an excellent, excellent movie... That's all I can say! BUT.... This film is a PERFECT illustration of what it is like living in America as Trump as our President. It defies all logic and boggles the mind. He flat out lies on video and then says he didn’t. It is a narcisitic quality to both of these men that is truly frightening. Because when put into a postion of power, they invite and enable hoards of dangerous people to do and inflict dangerous things on the masses. Right now in America the world is upside down and we find ourselves having to argue and defend that it is right side up.
  • Good, But Not Great

Acting: A+ Sets: C Story: B Tom Wilkinson is always great, as is Rachel Weisz. The real star here is the despicable anti-Semitic character played with smarm and filth by Timothy Spall. The factual basis for the movie is powerful but not well executed here. Boring at times. Weisz's character is heroic but also unlikeable, making the story drag and sometimes grate (think of your strong-willed, overly-outspoken Aunt Phyllis, from Queens). Again, Spall is the one to watch, with his black little rat's eyes all herky-jerky, as he relishes the attention he's getting for being a cretin.

This movie and the actors were excellent. I could not believe another movie on the Holocaust would evoke so much emotion again!! Exceptional!!
