Description

“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” opens in 1926 as Newt Scamander has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures. Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident…were it not for a No-Maj (American for Muggle) named Jacob, a misplaced magical case, and the escape of some of Newt’s fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizarding and No-Maj worlds.

As a hardcore Star Wars fan, it pains me to say that this film is better than the entire Prequel Trilogy combined! But it’s true. Something that makes Fantastic Beasts so special is it’s utter reverence for Harry Potter! It feels like you’re in that same world, something I can’t say for Star Wars. I love Harry Potter too keep in kind, oh yeah Hot take, Newt is better than Harry... here’s why, HE’S ACTUALLY INTERESTING! Harry’s fine, but his inner conflicts are mostly predictable and he is pretty flat overall. Newt though, ho ho! Newt is fascinating! From his obsession with creatures to his little quirks, he’s very fun to watch. The other characters are great too, Jacob is hysterical, Tina and Queenie is likable, Graves is very good villain, oh and that scene where he accidentally reveals his true colors to Newt, FRICKIN’ AWESOME! Graves “So it’s useless?” Newt “Useless? What use could you have for it?” I love this movie with all my heart! 10/10

My family went to see this in theaters back when it first came out. It was so worth it. We’ve watched all 8 Harry Potter films and thought this was a worthy prequel. Go check it out if you can.

  • Eddie RedMumble ruined it

The film is completely ruined by Eddie RedMumble who is incapable of speaking loudly and clearly. No idea what half of his lines are since he just keeps mumbling on and on and on. Not gonna waste my money buying any more films with this “actor” in it.
