This movie was really cringe and nothing like 8th grade whatsoever.

This is relatable to anyone in middle school but won’t watch it if you passed middle school cause it won’t be as interesting to you as for me a middle schooler 😌✨

The movie manages to target middle schoolers, yet has a message for everyone of all ages. The jokes land, the car scene really has some good buildup, and the movie is realistic. Kayla isn’t a popular kid in the end, but her talking to Kennedy at the end is a wonderful conclusion even if it’s jumbled. Plus, it’s insanely accurate for it to be written by a man in his late 20s

My name is Kiley and I’m in 7th grade. I really enjoyed this movie because it relates to my life so much. My favorite part in the movie was when Kayla goes up to Kennedy and tells her how rude and pathetic she is. I love Kayla’s YouTube videos. I think that she will be turn out just fine in high school. Because she choose to be confident, as she put herself out there. Because she was herself! Again, I loved the movie so much! I would recommend this movie to a middle schooler like me or a eighth grader going through the same struggles as Kayla.

I never thought that any film could pull off being delightfully cringe inducing, yet that’s exactly what this is. It accurately captures the real life of an average eighth grader who’s just as typical and awkward as anyone could think, with her helicopter parent tagging along for the ride. For anyone that has lived through eighth grade, this movie is like a mirror reflecting back on what most of us deem the worst stage of our life, and continues to cause us to cringe, laugh, and reflect all at the same time. Thank you, Bo Burnham, for this amazing movie.

Idk this movie can be hella cringe at times but it can also be really funny and relatable.

I'm a gen x'er and male and even I could relate to this movie...at least my memories from back then. The social media part of it is just insane and probably makes it harder for these kids. But I really thought it was wonderfully done. The scene by the fire with her dad had me in tears. Just wanted to hug her through the screen!

Save yourself ~90 minutes from your life, please!
