Description

Nearly 30.4 million people die each year from chronic diseases and $3. 8 trillion spent in healthcare costs in the U. S. alone for treating what the CDC defines as "among most common, costly and preventable of all health problems. " Tackling one of the greatest health catastrophes of our time, this powerful film reveals how what we eat exacerbates illnesses and, more importantly, explains — in an accessible and engrossing manner — how we can prevent, arrest and even reverse chronic diseases through diet. Along with professional insights from several leading physicians and medical researchers, Eating You Alive features compelling endorsements from celebrities such as director James Cameron and actress Suzy Amis Cameron, actor Samuel L. Jackson and entertainer Penn Jillette, in addition to moving testimonies from everyday individuals who have healed themselves with whole foods. It's time for a revolution in healthcare and it starts with the next bite.

I agree in the idea that what we are eating is killing us. The American diet has caused many of the health issues. I do no agree with the bias of the film. No counter views are given. I recommend everyone read the Obesity Code for another view on the health epidemic in America.

Seemed like a big change but it was easier - and more importantly - the best thing we’ve ever done! Only regret is that we didn’t go whole food plant based sooner! 💪🏽🌱

Totally biased. But, I can say that because I have a mostly plant based diet anyway. Everything in moderation. Live like no one else so you can live like no one else. I've lost 100 lbs over 3 years. Most of that was an increase of exercise and better food choices. If someone were to go completely plant based they would probably have the success of a smoker quitting. The key is to make a decision to make a change in your life and work to move more to loose weight (if you need to) and make decisions to eat better quality food (less fat and refined sugars). You can't go wrong with complete vegan but if you can't sustain it, work on addressing at least one meal a day, 5 days a week (e.g. breakfast). Once you've tackled that, move to lunch. By that time you should see gains and will have motivation to change dinner. I'm serious, it works. Good luck for all that have a desire to make a change in their life.
  • No fact or science to be found here

I thought this would be a documentary on eating healthy. It is not. It is nothing more than propaganda to get people to chose vegetarian life style. Worse, they straight lie, telling the audience that plant only diets will cure everything from heart disease to cancer, and rather than listening to their doctors people should just go vegan. They use pseudo-science and half truths to distort facts. Not one reference to peer reviewed paper or study, and no counter arguments. This movie is going to get gullible people killed.

I’m having health issues , and I think I found the miracle now , hope so ... this really gave me an in depth on what I had been eating to what I’m facing now , I will have less meat , phase by phase , greens has always been in my diet and I will continue to have more . Fast food needs to go ! Overall all about this documentary is good , one thing I don’t agree is about Chemotherapy, my grandma was on Chemo for 1 year and she is still well and great after 10 yrs , she cut out chicken and continue with her minion medications and annual checkup , she is great now, Thank God! Give this documentary a try , what is there to loose !?!?!
  • Lots of bunk..

This movies point of view is mostly bunk and unrealistic for most people. I’m a vegetarian but noooo that isn’t good enough because one needs to be a vegan to have a healthy life. Lots of Hollywood types giving their opinions. Why? Waste and lots of bunk.

This is a great introduction into why eating a whole foods plant based diet can make great changes in personal health. I have many friends who have changed to a plant based diet and I have seen dramatic changes in their health. Its really time for people to take responsibility for their lives. Don't blame big Pharma. They are a business and they are doing what businesses do, try to make money. I work in a pharmacy and people complain constantly about how big pharma is screwing them over, but with many of them, if they took responsibiltiy for themselves they could reduce their need to pay for their expensive monthly prescriptions simply by eating better.

This is a great film that has a ton of information about the health benefits of plant-based eating. It’s the movie that convinced my husband and me to go 100% plant-based.
