Description

From acclaimed fantasy film producer Guillermo del Toro and director Scott Cooper comes this disquieting horror thriller written by C. Henry Chaisson, Nick Antosca and Cooper. In ANTLERS, small-town Oregon elementary school teacher Julia Meadows (Keri Russell) notices something is “off” about Lucas, one of her students. He’s a quiet loner, and when asked to join in storytelling and drawing assignments, he presents disturbing material about mythical beasts inspired by local lore. Concerned, Julia seeks to learn more about Lucas’s home life. When it appears that he is living in dire conditions, Julia and her brother Paul (Jesse Plemons), the town’s sheriff, explore further, eventually discovering that Lucas is harboring a dangerous secret. When they ultimately learn the whole truth about Lucas’s family, things take a terrifying turn. Genre master del Toro is joined by producers David S. Goyer and J. Miles Dale, with Jim Rowe, Nick Antosca and Kevin Turen as executive producers. Graham Greene, Scott Haze, Rory Cochrane and Amy Madigan also star in this chilling story that ties an ancient terror to insatiable human greed and its modern wages of poverty, addiction and environmental devastation.

It was okay but ,it should have been listed as something else. Or add on to Horror like, Action/Adventure. Maybe Science Fiction. All around in Del Toro’s wheelhouse.

I think this movie had a lot of promise. It’s visually appealing and the story is interesting yet it didn’t feel very “horror”. I didn’t hate it but I didn’t find it remotely scary nor does it feel like a movie with a lot of rewatch value. It also came off as a bit slow at some points though I definitely think it’s worth watching though.

I love this movie so I bought it on iTunes but at the beginning of the movie at the scene when it shows Lucas shinning a light at the door there was a high pitch beep is that normal?

So many Native American stories out there and they chose to make with all white characters and a token Graham Green 😐

I was surprised that this film held my attention as long as it did —nothing wrong with the cover artwork but judging by that, I never anticipated liking it as much as I did. With that said, even if you’re put off by the supernatural looking antlers on the cover just put that aside﹠give it a chance,

Like most horror these days, this film isn’t groundbreaking. If you enjoy creature features full of gore though, this film doesn’t disappoint.

This movie is so terrible! It’s so dark the entire time. You can’t see the “creature” at all. This movie was very disappointing! I recommend watching this movie only if it’s free.

This movie is the perfect monster movie. Been awhile since I’ve seen a good one. Definitely worth the rent and I will probably buy it to watch again

Great creature feature, slow to start, but the build up is worth it! Highly recommend!
