Description

Loyal veteran Navy S.E.A.L. Lt. A.K. Waters (Bruce Willis) is sent into the heart of war-torn Africa on a hazardous mission to rescue Dr. Lena Hendricks (Monica Bellucci), a U.S. citizen who runs a missionary. When the beautiful doctor refuses to abandon the refugees in her care, Lt. Waters finds himself having to choose between following orders and the dictates of his own conscience. Together, they begin a dangerous trek through the deadly jungle, all the while being pursued by a rebel militia group, with only one goal in mind: to assassinate Lt. Waters' unit and the refugees in his care.

    I actually think this is a good Bruce W movie, granting that the dogs are out there. Here he plays a principled American soldier, an admirable character making a sacrifice for principle. The action is believable and personal. Unless you absolutely require large buildings to fall or alien spaceships to attack this is a worthwhile flick. It’s an action movie where action comes from the plot instead of being the plot.

    Only a neutered liberal could watch this movie and complain. When you read a film critic referring to a movie as "reactionary", you can almost guarantee it's going to be good and this film is excellent. True to life tactics and weapons and an accurate portrayal of the difficult decisions our special forces guys face on the ground, and the overall deplorable conditions of life on the African continent. Must see for anyone who appreciates a movie that pits good vs. evil and acknowledges America's long standing role as the shining city on the hill.

    This movie is real, a tear jerker but so powerful. The music is very inspirational. This movie teaches us to do the right thing no matter what and that for "evil to prevail is for good men to stand down and do nothing" as told by Edmund Burke
